Global Aerospace: Supporting Men’s Health Through Year-Round Wellbeing

“At Global Aerospace, we believe that creating a supportive workplace means recognising that wellbeing is not one-size-fits-all. While we’re proud to support initiatives such as Men’s Health Matters, our commitment extends across all aspects of wellbeing, from mental health and women’s health to neurodiversity and inclusion.”

Awareness campaigns can spark important conversations, but lasting change happens when wellbeing becomes part of everyday working life. That is why Global Aerospace was pleased to support Thrive4Life’s Men’s Health Matters campaign, which encourages more open and practical conversations around men’s physical and mental health.

For us, the campaign reinforces a broader belief: people are better able to contribute, collaborate and succeed when they have the knowledge, confidence and support to look after their wellbeing.

Ben Youngs and the Importance of Early Action

The campaign launched with a flagship interview featuring Ben Youngs, England’s most-capped men’s rugby player, at the Lloyd’s Building. His story explored leadership, resilience, family life, mental wellbeing and heart health, while highlighting the importance of seeking support before challenges become crises.

The honesty of the conversation challenged the assumption that people who appear confident and resilient never struggle. It also reinforced a simple message: seeking support and taking action early are signs of strength, not weakness.

Building Wellbeing Beyond Awareness Campaigns

Campaigns can create momentum, but maintaining that momentum requires consistent effort throughout the year. Our support for Men’s Health Matters sits within a broader partnership with Thrive4Life, giving colleagues access to regular expert-led wellbeing sessions and tailored programmes that reflect evolving needs and priorities.

Employee-Led Wellbeing and Inclusion

A key part of wellbeing at Global Aerospace is that it is shaped by our people. Employee-led groups and committees provide opportunities for colleagues to share ideas, offer feedback and help influence initiatives that reflect the experiences and needs of the workforce.

The work of our Mental Health First Aiders, Health & Wellbeing Committee and DEI Advisory Group plays an important role in this approach. Together, they help raise awareness, encourage learning and discussion, and create opportunities for colleagues to engage with topics that matter to them.

Why This Matters

Supporting Men’s Health Matters reflects a simple belief: people are better able to succeed when they have the knowledge, confidence and support to look after their wellbeing.

While the campaign shines an important spotlight on men’s health, its wider message is equally valuable. Raising awareness, encouraging preventative action and creating opportunities for learning can help people access support earlier and make more informed decisions about their health.

Through our partnership with Thrive4Life and the contributions of our employee-led groups, Global Aerospace continues to keep wellbeing visible throughout the year and support healthier working lives.
