Damon Peterson
Manual Handling Trainer & MHFA Instructor

Damon is Osteopaths For Industry’s lead Manual Handling Instructor Trainer and the lead Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor for Thrive4Life. He brings over 25 years of experience in workplace health, safety, and employee wellbeing. As Director of Training for Osteopaths For Industry (OFI), he delivers many of the organisation’s key Train the Trainer and practical skills courses in both static-object and client handling, alongside performing workplace risk assessments across a wide range of industries.
Damon also leads OFI’s trainer CPD programme, facilitating regular knowledge-sharing and skills development sessions to maintain the highest standards of instructional practice.
A trained Osteopath and former faculty member at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, Damon combines deep clinical knowledge with a passion for practical injury prevention and workplace wellbeing. His training experience spans both private and public sectors, working with clients such as the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, the BBC, Coca Cola, British Airways, and the NHS.
In 2019, Damon qualified as a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor through MHFA England, enabling him to deliver accredited MHFA training to organisations across the UK. This qualification equips Damon to train individuals to recognise the signs of mental ill health, provide initial support, and guide colleagues towards appropriate professional help — ensuring a proactive, compassionate approach to mental wellbeing in the workplace.
His approach is rooted in evidence-based techniques, hands-on learning, and a holistic understanding of both physical and mental health — helping organisations build safer, healthier, and more resilient teams.
